To reach an actually useful state, other modifications were made for which I would still have to create the relevant patch files:
- use the pcre library provided by the system;
- remove @LINK_FLAGS@ in some Makefile.am files;
- change $(LINK) to $(CXXLINK) appropriately in NRCore library creation
- a segfault I can't remember :(
